Indoor Sauna — Preparation Requirements

To ensure a smooth delivery and installation experience, please prepare your indoor space before your sauna arrives.

1. Suitable Indoor Location

Choose a dry, well-ventilated indoor area with a solid, stable and level floor capable of safely supporting the sauna and its occupants.

Suitable locations may include dedicated wellness rooms, spare rooms or appropriately prepared home gyms.

Avoid damp environments, areas exposed to water and locations with excessive humidity.

2. Electrical Requirements

Electrical requirements depend on the sauna model.

Certain indoor infrared saunas, including the Dales Glow 2-Person Sauna, are supplied with a standard 13A UK plug and can be connected directly to a suitable household wall socket.

For safe operation:

• Use a suitable wall socket with appropriate electrical protection.
• A dedicated socket with RCD protection is recommended.
• Do not use extension leads or multi-plug adaptors.
• Ensure the existing electrical circuit can safely support the sauna's power requirements.

A qualified electrician is not normally required to connect a plug-and-play model, provided the existing electrical installation is suitable.

Always check the electrical specifications of your chosen sauna before installation, as requirements may differ between models.

3. Ventilation & Clearance

Ensure the room has adequate ventilation and sufficient space around the sauna for safe operation.

Follow the manufacturer's specified clearances from walls, ceilings and surrounding furniture.

Do not obstruct the sauna's ventilation openings.

4. Delivery & Assembly Access

Check that your delivery route provides sufficient clearance for transporting the sauna components to the chosen room.

Please consider:

• Doorways and hallways
• Staircases and landings
• Narrow entrances and restricted corners
• Ceiling height and available assembly space
• Access for the installation team, where applicable

Please notify Spa Supreme before delivery if your property has restricted access or requires special handling arrangements.

Indoor Sauna — Preparation Requirements

Indoor infrared saunas are designed for installation in suitable indoor environments.

Preparing the correct location and electrical supply in advance will help ensure safe installation and straightforward operation.

1. Suitable Indoor Location

Choose a dry, well-ventilated indoor space with a stable, level floor capable of safely supporting the sauna and its occupants.

Suitable areas may include dedicated wellness rooms, spare rooms and appropriately prepared home gyms.

Avoid damp environments, areas exposed to water and locations with excessive humidity.

Indoor infrared saunas must not be installed outdoors unless the manufacturer specifically states otherwise.

2. Electrical Requirements

Electrical requirements vary according to the sauna model.

Certain indoor infrared saunas, including the Dales Glow 2-Person model, are supplied with a standard 13A UK plug.

For suitable plug-and-play models:

• Connect the sauna directly to an appropriate wall socket.
• Ensure the electrical circuit can safely support the appliance's rated power.
• Use appropriate electrical protection, including RCD protection where required.
• Do not use extension leads or multi-plug adaptors.
• Follow the manufacturer's electrical installation instructions.

A new hard-wired electrical connection is not normally required for a plug-and-play model when the existing supply is suitable.

Important: Always check the specific electrical requirements of your chosen sauna. The Dales Glow 4-Person model is listed at 2820 W, and its socket and circuit suitability should be confirmed against the manufacturer's rating label and installation instructions before use.

If you are uncertain about your electrical supply, consult a qualified electrician before installation.

3. Ventilation & Clearance

Ensure adequate ventilation and sufficient space around the sauna for safe operation.

Follow the manufacturer's recommended clearances from walls, ceilings, furniture and other surrounding surfaces.

Do not obstruct ventilation openings.

4. Delivery & Assembly Access

Ensure that the sauna components can be transported safely to the intended installation area.

Please check:

• Doorways and hallways
• Staircases and landings
• Narrow entrances and restricted corners
• Ceiling height and available assembly space
• Access for the installation team, where applicable

Notify Spa Supreme before delivery if you have restricted access or require additional handling arrangements.

5. Before Installation

Please ensure that:

• The room is dry, level and suitably ventilated.
• The floor can support the sauna and its occupants.
• The electrical supply meets the chosen model's requirements.
• The delivery route and installation area are clear.
• Sufficient space is available for assembly, ventilation and maintenance.
• Any special access requirements have been communicated to Spa Supreme.

Outdoor Sauna — Preparation Requirements

Outdoor cabin and barrel saunas require a suitable foundation, adequate drainage and a safe electrical installation.

Proper preparation helps ensure the sauna can be installed securely and maintained over time.

1. Suitable Outdoor Location

Choose a stable, well-drained outdoor area with sufficient space for the sauna, safe access and future maintenance.

Your sauna must be positioned on a solid, stable and level foundation capable of supporting its full weight and occupants.

Suitable foundations may include:

• A properly prepared concrete base
• Level, structurally suitable paving
• Appropriately reinforced decking

Avoid soft soil, unstable surfaces and areas where rainwater may accumulate.

2. Electrical Requirements

Traditional outdoor sauna models equipped with Harvia electric heaters generally require a dedicated hard-wired electrical connection.

For example, the Brontë 1–2 Person Outdoor Cabin Sauna, with a 4.5 kW Harvia heater, requires a dedicated 20A electrical supply.

The Pennine 4-Person Barrel Sauna uses a 6 kW Harvia heater and also requires a dedicated hard-wired supply.

The correct electrical specification must be determined for each individual model.

For safe operation:

• Electrical installation must be carried out by a suitably qualified electrician.
• The circuit, cabling and protective devices must comply with the heater manufacturer's instructions and applicable UK regulations.
• Outdoor electrical equipment and connections must be suitable for their environment.
• The sauna must not be connected to a standard household plug socket unless explicitly approved for that model.

Electrical installation and final hard-wired connection are not included in standard professional sauna assembly unless separately agreed.

3. Access Requirements

Please ensure that the delivery and installation teams can safely access the proposed sauna location.

Check:

• Garden gates and pathways
• Steps and slopes
• Uneven ground
• Narrow entrances and restricted corners
• Available space for handling and assembling the sauna components

Barrel saunas require additional working space for assembling and aligning their curved timber sections.

Please contact Spa Supreme before ordering if special access or handling arrangements may be required.

4. Ventilation & Clearance

Allow sufficient clearance around the sauna for safe operation, ventilation, access and maintenance.

Follow the manufacturer's required distances from walls, fences, buildings and combustible materials.

Ensure that all heater-specific safety distances are maintained.

5. Drainage & Weather Protection

Outdoor saunas should be positioned where water can drain away from the structure.

Avoid locations where standing water may collect beneath or around the timber base.

Regularly inspect the exterior timber and roof, and follow the manufacturer's recommended cleaning and maintenance instructions.

Where appropriate, suitable exterior wood treatments may help maintain the appearance and condition of the timber.

6. Before Installation

Please ensure that:

• The foundation is complete, stable and level.
• The installation area has adequate drainage.
• Sufficient space is available around the sauna.
• The access route is clear and accessible.
• The electrical requirements have been discussed with a qualified electrician.
• Any special delivery or installation requirements have been communicated to Spa Supreme.

Please note: Foundation preparation, electrical installation, groundwork and specialist access arrangements are not included in standard professional sauna assembly unless expressly agreed.
